Thanks! This photo was taken about 2 years ago, the bus had been in that shed for about 50 years. Original as original could be. It's now almost done... lower 6 inches replaced and motor rebuilt.

She came from iowa... one owner bus. Previous owner tells me the rockers started to go when parked (salt), and then the mice got in it. Hence the rest of the rot.

no, the pass door was not with the bus. the og door was crushed and lying next to the bus when found. several close friends and some new friends helped me source and deliver the pass door! really amazing the vw community (as we all know).
this bus came together quickly with the gift of several parts needed from friends all over the southwest and beyond.

absolutely !
It was parked in 1975 way up a canyon on private property in northern new mexico. could not see the bus. left for dead until a friend of a friend seen it while working on oil wells in the area
the guy who owned it had a "far away" look in his eye when he asked if I was really going to try and get it running
hahahaha |

| Great rescue of that 15 window. That ''new'' passenger door was patina-ed to fit perfectly on this bus. Have you shown the driving bus to that prevous owner? |

Scott Kurtz Hartland WI pulls 1st place in his category at Road America Vintage Concours event in Elkhart Lake WI. His just completed EPIC 1963 Turkis 15 Window Deluxe was the star of the show.
