I posted in the WTB for the classifieds but I'm guessing that's not something many of you peruse every day.
I'm hoping to get a grey front table (or back as I think I actually have what used to be the front table in the back right now based on its smaller size), leg, and bracket as our new to us 1990 Vanagon didn't come with any of the above and I think I would actually use it. Go Westy has the table and leg but no bracket - hoping to get all 3 together to save on shipping.
Thanks all!

I would recommend contacting member "sleepyjoe". He sells tons of used parts at very fair prices and may have what you need. _________________ 91 CARAT |

while it's nice to have the full kit & kaboodle
it's far from necessary and you have nothing but time to gather the parts.
note that the one table you do have can be swapped from front to back mounts as needed.. and that having both, many stow one 'someplace' as it's often in the way of precious space.
there are some good mods to help with table use/storage/space..
my favorite is to put a tabletop mount onto the small kitchen cubby door that's under the sink.. then it just lifts off the hinges when you want a 2nd table surface.
another favorite mod is I like the front table base mount on Passenger seat pedestal. I feel it's more useful there. _________________

Okay maybe I only need the mount then. Does the rear table leg work in the front table mount if I get that and put it on the passenger side? I mostly want a place to put my coffee and maybe write when I'm up first in the morning when camping. |

Thanks Dan. I found a mount.
Does anybody know what size screws I need to actually mount it though?
I need to get those as it doesn't come with them. |

Take the mount to the hardware store and get the thickest sheet metal screws that will fit in the holes. Self-tapping stainless steel is even better.... |
I have a Front Table Bracket I would like to attach behind the driver's seat on my 1986 Pop top with rear corner cabinet, fold down side table, rear-facing jump seat and a 12v fridge/cooler. my goal is to put in a step to upper bunk similar to this in the bracket.
Are there any obstructions that I need to be aware of when drilling holes or attaching with self-tapping screws. I know that the battery and associated wires are there. Will I need to remove battery before proceeding? _________________ 1986 Wolfsberg Limited Edition Vanagon.

I carefully drilled a pilot hole or two, measured thickness and purchased appropriate sized SS self tapping screws. |

I completed the task of installing the bracket for a step-up to the upper bunk.
Using materials described in this link plus one addition.
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=753437&highlight=top+top+step+up
Taking the side of caution, I slid the seat forward and opened the auxiliary battery box to ensure screws would not interfere with anything. Also, it was an opportunity to install a locking 12v outlet I had for the ARB fridge. If I were just installing the bracket, "kaalualu's" advise of carefully drilling a pilot hole or two, measuring thickness and purchasing appropriate sized SS self-tapping screws would have worked. I did have to remove the rear facing seat to put the screws in on one side of the bracket.
It was pretty much a straightforward install. The only problem I had was that I could not use the turn knob due to the close proximity of the rear facing seat. I will search for another type of fastener to secure the pipe and keep it from rotating.
Update06/03/2023:
Ordered a couple of M10-1.5 X 12mm, 14mm, 16mm and 20mm set screws to see which size would fit the best to replace the turn knob. Ordered from Bolt Depot as the local hardware joints only carried M4 and M5 ones. Bolt Depot was the only place online that I found that would allow a purchase of one or two instead of 25, 50-100 per bag full.
Any of the sizes would work, but I chose the 20mm as it stuck out enough to allow perspective as to inserting the shortened M5 Allen wrench to tighten.
Attached the Allen wrench to the pipe by wrapping a Velcro cable tie to it allowing access for future use and hope it will not disappear. _________________ 1986 Wolfsberg Limited Edition Vanagon.
