for a 1961 Beetle.
I am looking for advice on a period correct (early 1960's) custom/performance wheels. The car has stock suspension.
I am thinking that chrome wheels are my best bet. 15" Diameter, 4-4.5" front 5-5.5" rear.
What would you do?
Thanks |

As far as I know the only option for rims in the early 60's were modified stock, Porsche 356, if you were rich Carrera composite rims or to make your own.
I think Radars were about the first alloy VW wheel being introduced circa 1965 and BRM's maybe 1966 but best to check those dates with someone more knowledgeable.
Lemmerz Sprint Stars were introduced into the US in late '66, not sure when they were released in Europe. |

I just put new www.Mobelwagen.com 730P 5.5x15 wheels like what came on a 914 Porsche.
I have 185x60 & 205x70 on my lowered squareback. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

356 alloy rims are always good.
