Yes, it seems pretty unlikely to have been outside all that time. Some pictures after CLR would be nice, I'm curious!

CLR progress as requested! Still needs some work but it’s getting there

Thanx! Looking very good already. I love how the grey primer paint is shining through the Pearl white. Gives a great patina look. The roof and the gutters seems to be fairly oke and rust free on the pictures.

Over 25 years ago I asked to purchase this bus while hauling propane to a rural area. More recently I was visiting a hospital in the same area and recognized the spot, to my amazement the bus was still there! A neighbor gave me a name which led to the next of kin. I found a current address and went old school. Letter sent. To my surprise the call came last week and a deal was made. The extraction was difficult without a wench and the tires not holding air. To my surprise the bus is mostly intact, home made camper kit with no rear seats... sea blue and blue white peeking through! 1965. it is surreal owning the bus I asked to buy over 25 years ago.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon.
