3/4" so that should be good for another 25 years. Maybe? |
Not sure.
As the pin wears smaller, the load increases and the wear accelerates.
It's probably "dry".
If you can pack some grease in it every 5 years I bet you can get 25 years.
This is a pic of a finger "from below" intending to pack some grease into the clevis.
This finger happens to know where to go
but as you can see is having difficulty getting the grease inside the clevis.
I doubt it's easy for the garden-variety feller's finger to find the G-spot.
But ..... it "is possible" if you're willing to work at it.
If you can find it maybe you can write a book and be a hero. _________________

Soon as I get my mind out of the gutter...I'll try that...
Seriously, maybe some spray grease would get up in there? _________________ 1987 Syncro Westy/2.0L Tiico |

I have (always and only) used a spray lube on mine - Fluid Film.
At 30 years I had 1" of free movement so I took it apart to inspect. There was no wear on the pin or the hole. All the free play was in the master.
I adjusted the push rod to have 16" of free play and that gave me 3/8" at the pedal.
Now at 40 years it is still 3/8" at the pedal.

But it's not really an onerous task to R&R the pedal, especially if you chop off that vestigial horn on the top end. |
