Went for about the same as the stock 63 that sold a while back. I’m not surprised. Custom builds usually either hit big or flop, this one landed somewhere in between. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Looks like you did better than the 35K everyone expected. Don't know if you got what you wanted, but at least you've got some cash to build your bus with. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

It actually went for 750 more than my guess
More importantly I am getting closer to having the space to work on the bus. But the car needs to be paid for and hauled away before I start counting chickens. |

Yup, I went thru that when I sold my T-34, as the first guy changed his mind. The 2nd buyer sent a wire transfer, and arranged pick up and shipping. Very nice to deal with. Made things very easy on me. I was sad to see it go. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I’ve had good luck with buyers coming though on BaT. Always did wire transfers. Hope it works out for you. Nothing worse than a dead beat “buyer.” _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

So, did it actually work out?
Heard some stories about BaT buyers flaking or getting cold feet.

that's a funny way of spreading rumors
any time that happens, BAT re-runs the auction. In the history of BAT it's not very common. I'm not a huge BAT fan but spreading nonsense isn't right either |

Close. dyno-Soars. Sounds the same, but purposely spelled differently.
Brothers Dean and Ken Schley were among the pioneers of hi-po VW tuning in the 1960's and '70's. They campaigned a very successful Beetle drag racer named Lightning Bug, and eventually set up a small business for producing quality VW tuning parts. Very similar to Gene Berg and Joe Vittone (the original EMPI). Deano was probably the nickname of the one brother, and the character was the cartoon pet dinosaur from The Flintstones. To imply that their products were tested to make power, the word dinosaur was modified to dyno, "soar" means really high power. Some of DDS' products were painted purple to reflect the pet's color. From the gallery:

Just ran across this thread and read it cover to cover! This Notched turned out really nice!
Have to make a correction here. Deano Dyno Soars was the Lowry brothers not the Schley Brothers. The Lowry brothers, Dean and Ken, ran the purple 54 sedan with the Deano motif. Mark and Paul Schley own the Lightning Bug.

This along with the Ghia is kinda rough. The interesting thing is hearing the car sound from the outside. It was very cool, I think I will repeat that setup if I build another t4 engine. |
