I picked these up about 10 years ago at a garage sale and just refound them while looking for something else. Laufer pencil erasers. Around 1/64 scale, about an inch and a half long. Hard rubber.

Cool find! I remember seeing those in my youth. Had totally forgotten about them.

I saw this for sale on Facebook Teather Car page.
Not sure what a teather car is? Make sure to have the sound on.

I got a Testors tether car for Christmas in '75 or '76. Very difficult to start and the rear tires were hard plastic, not rubber, so traction was a problem. Yours looks like it's spent it's life in a box in a box.

They wanted $325 and said it was never run. I can’t tell you anything about the rear tires, but I see your point.

Hobby tip for the day:

A quick way to add traction on any motorized toy is to use rubber bands around the tires.

It looks like it is battery powered and the mechanism under the front makes it drive crazy left and right instead of a straight line????
Very cool tin bus.

It's a standard bump-and-go, with the battery box located in the center. The blue dome light lights up. Thanks to Hacksaw for helping with the ID, as there are no markings other than MADE IN JAPAN.
Tin buses are scarce and expensive, so this was a nice addition. Thumbs Up
