i recently put one into westy that i converted from air-cooled, i'd already previously fitted the BMW brake booster to the van, and space looked very tight in there, so i fitted the jeep resistor on the other side of the heater box, if it were to require replacing, it's now accessible from the glove box, I rewired it all anyway, so the new wiring was made long enough to go around the back of the heater box, it's all good. |
Hello, first post here, been reading a while. Just did this mod where a BMW brake booster was installed previously, and I didn't have any fitment issues putting the resistor on the driver's side.
I also made a new hole with a grommet (1/4" x 5/16" iirc) for passing through the wires from the fan motor. Don't mind the plastic tube, that's for the air dam flap cable courtesy of Chris Corkins.

Working on this upgrade. Can anyone tell me the positive and negative terminals on this fan?

Looking for some tips on how to be sure these flappers don't fall out. When I removed the heater box these were sitting on the dash. Today, after adding new foam to them, I installed them and when moving the box around they either fell out of place on one side or both. Obviously I don't want these flappers to fall out after all is re-installed.
So my main idea is to install the flappers and get a heat gun and dowel and just heat up the little tabs that are in the box and just give them a little pressure to be able to close the gap just enough so they don't fall out and still swing freely.
Your thoughts?
