Not a Vanagon, but a VW specimen that I had understood was not available for import into NA - we were in Palm Desert and took a day trip to Joshua Tree NP and spotted it in the parking lot at the visitor centre. BC plates on it, so now trying to connect with the owner to learn how it got here. 4X4 California, no less.

It took me a second to grab my phone because I was so dumbfounded. A very fresh looking Sinka passed me a few blocks from my house around 2pm today on Route 1 while I was out in Syncro.
