Awesome project, can't wait to see how this one comes out. I have a boring old 65, but would love to have an early car.
I met Trylon at a show and he commented that his low light wasn't very fast and didn't handle highway cornering very well... but who cares! The car is cool. _________________ 2019 Golf Alltrack, '65 Ghia Coupe Restoration in Progress |

That looks great. What a transformation! It's amazing how quickly Jason tackles all these repairs and brings these cars back to their original glory. |

Here are a couple more photos of the Berg / Folts 5 Speed bump cover.
Jason did a little more clean up on the back of the nose. With a little "body work" you won't even know it was replaced.
I decided to go with Stainless Euro bumpers since my car does not have the rear bumper supports under the apron. I bought them from Helen in the bumper thread for $450 plus $170 shipping.
She stuck a surprise $29 PayPal fee on there too. I couldn't justify having Jason weld up the overrider holes on the original bumpers and then have them chromed for $3000.
Plus I like the way they look on the car. Maybe someday I will rechome them and put them back on. At least I have the option now. I had them shipped directly to Jason.
They showed up a day early. The chrome / polish job on them looks good from 400 miles away. He is going to assemble and fit them this rotation so we can get his feed back.

Jason got the Stainless bumpers mounted up yesterday. The back bumper went on without incident and gaps are really good.
The front bumper is a different story. The driver's side corner bolt tab had to be cut and rewelded in a different postiton. The finish and gaps are great here too after the modification. Next up is welding up the over rider holes in the bracket covers and geting them fitted.

More progress from last week. Jason got the GabFab engine compartment panels mounted.
