I think all 5-bolt rims used the spring hubcap keepers, so I agree... not for any VW. |
I agree, that those are probably not VW, but Typ3 5 x 205 rims did not have the spring keepers. They have the dimples just like these rims but no holes on the sides like these.
Another difference between type3 5x205 and type 1 and 2 are the lugbolts which are M12x1.5 and not M14x1.5 like on all other AC VWs |
66/7 Type 1 are 5 lug with no retaining springs and flat hub caps similar to Type 3, but with the insignia pressed out rather than in. Those do not look like the Type 1 wheels, though, if memory serves. The holes look like 356/A/B but they all had clips AFAIK. |
Yes, the holes are different.
Here's an original spare from my old '67 Bug:

Sorry, no pics, but the rusty rims can be Lemmerz 1588, 4,5 x 15 ET 42 mm with dimples for type 3. Very rare!
Would like a set of 4 or 5 for my 65 type 34.

The two biggest questions I get about being in The 1500 Club is ride height and wheels.
Even though I state in the rules - stock ride height and then generously give on the rim choice - as long as its of the era, primarily rims you could of bought in the 60's.
Yet people keep asking. I think they do because they have qualifying rims but the stance.....well may be a bit droopy
Here is a good qualifying example on my own car.
For my 64 notch I plan on having other rims. My choice is genuine Porsche 356 lemmertz wheel. I have yet to fit them but felt this a good alternative to the stock ones. I hope to clad these in some Continental tires for show and keep a radial road set on the stock rims for long distance. All the time keeping stock height.
I cant think of another member having real og Porsche rims? Maybe a repop chrome set? But not real lemmertz ones. The set I bought are all same date code matching set. They are painted in a silver gray color from the factory. I plan on restoring them in og color and run without the caps. Kinda like a rally look? Speed Racer look?

lifting the thred by going quite deep...
4 of these and you´re home!
Anyone knows what this rim is for? Is it a type 3 accessory rim? |

Lemmerz 1588, 4 of them... 4,5 x 15, believed ET 42 mm, prefered in chrome, a dream for my type 34, 1500 S.
Similar design for 66 and 67 beetles in 4,0 x 15, ET 33 (?) mm: Lemmerz 1593 A. |

Just the turn signal switch itself? Or is there something wrong with the column?
Do you know if the column is SWF or Koln (K with a circle around it)? Unless you are swapping out the entire column, you'll need to know which column you have as the turn signal switch is not a mix-n-match piece. There might be some writing on the bottom of your column that will tell you if it's SWF. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red
