Hello everyone. I'm Jonathan from Los Angeles. I'm new to the forums here but have been active with air cooled Volkswagens since 1996 and have been on the samba since around 2000 having bought several cars via the classified ads section. I recently (Dec 2023) bought a "1950" Split Window Beetle from Idaho that was featured here for sale. The numbers indicated that it should have been listed and sold as a 1951. Either way, I received my car's certificate from Volkswagen today and much to my delight, it is a Hoffman car built in February of 1951 and delivered to New York. It's nicely done but not perfect. The Bordeaux Red paint is a little too purple but is a nicely done paint job, the interior is well done but I still need to redo the glove boxes to make it better. Engine is a lovely running 25hp but I'm not sure if it's original because the certificate unfortunately does not include the engine number.

Rear end more or less done. Just the rear apron that still needs to be replaced.

Just finished repairing the front inner wheelwell arches. Decided to make the repairpanels myself due to limited budget..

Also made new brackets from scratch for the VIN tray.

And bought new tanksupport frames from Virtanen.
