Nice to see an active guy on here from Fresno! Get to work on that thing and keep posting! I just moved my '66 body onto a new dolly yesterday that I made last week.

Here it is on the old dolly

And the new dolly. Still made it too short to roll the pan under it with tires d'oh!

Hey Bryan, I feel your DMV pain!
I learned that before doing anything to my new VW acquisitions, I must first appease the DMV gods!

When working on getting the title for my '62, I was told during my first visit that an inspection is required because I did not have the old title . . . it had been "out of the system" for over ten years.

The jerk at the counter told me 4 times that the car would need to be off-loaded from the tow vehicle because DMV staff will not get up on a trailer to check the vin.
4 TIMES! Okay . . . I got the point.

So . . . I take a day off from work to haul my '62 to their office for inspection.
That's when Mr. a-hole at the DMV tells me he is unable to inspect the car because there's no engine in it. I was just about ready to choke him! Why he didn't mention this before . . . who knows! He was too worried about stepping up on a trailer.

I took the car home, raided my junk pile and built an "engine" for the car . . . nothing but an old block, pair of heads, and a fan housing looks enough like an engine for the DMV eggspurts! Razz

Glad to see you are making progress!
Have you welded the new pans yet?

Which is why I have kind of stopped working on it for now. It was all supposed to happen so I went ahead and took the car apart, but then it fell through. But hopefully it will all come together soon, and without too much DMV late fees. As soon as that happens, I will get the pan going again.

Josh... your car looks really solid. What are your plans for it?

Used to want to do a full custom build but I'm glad I haven't. The car is too solid to mall the shaving, filling, etc. that I wanted to to do. Now I want it to be more of a resto-mod. Still gonna bag it but have the exterior/interior as "stock" as possible with subtle, OEM+ esk modifications.

This is why I've left my car in an active status for so long. Didn't want to risk having to take it off non-op and have something wacky go down like it has with you.

Some of you may have noticed that I put this car up for sale. As well as my square back. Reason for this is, I have come down with ALS. And have lost the ability to do just about anything. It’s pretty devastating and hopefully it never happens to you.
