Seller was lucky to get $12K for it. This car has a number of serious issues that would cost 5X the purchase price to correct.
Looks half-decent at first glance, especially with that quickie 'resale red' paint job, but a closer look tells the real story...

What causes that?

Corrosion from the inside out that looks to be painted over. Probably wasn’t that bad when it was done.
Lots of lead in used in the nose to smooth the butt welded nose panels.
Steel rusts and lead corrodes.
The drivers side rocker is not good.
As we mentioned, the seller did very well to get the $12k
Aforementioned rocker.
