The pump should shut off when it reaches a certain point of vacuum. I’m guessing you have a substantial leak somewhere _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

I’ve never used a vacuum pump and would be more inclined to tap the intake to use engine vacuum. But since you’ve got the new pump, try it.
I recently installed a new brake booster and found that it took some fiddling to get the master cylinder to seat squarely on the brake booster. It wasn’t either of the parts, just the challenges of lining it up in a confined space. I’m not sure what your intake system is, but I run original dual carbs with an auto so there were a lot of potential leaks to chase down first. Hope the new pump solves your issues. |

OK Capt: Which pump did you purchase? Inquiring minds would like to know. _________________ Larry in OB
