Perplexed because before I started resto work, everything worked but 1 signal. So far, replaced all bulbs and fuses, (note this '65 is now 12V w internally regulated alternator). Made designated grounds for each light housing , soldered on and screwed to body. Replaced ignition switch w new, battery at 12.8v. When found no headlights, I was suspicious that movement may have caused lack of contacts or grounds, so I removed each connection at fusebox and cleaned the 60 years of filth to shiny with dremel wire wheel and replaced, one by one- but no changes!
Not sure how to proceed, where to check next., have multimeter, have diagram but PO did not keep everything exact to schematic as far as some positions on fuseblock, but it WAS working at first. Any suggestions appreciated _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |

Got to post up some pictures of what you got done. The wire coloring says way more than words.
Post up under the truck from a few angles so we can see all of the wires. Do that with the lights, as best you can.
I am certain that myself or another member can help you much better then! _________________ Jimbo

Don't know what u mean ( ie "pics under truck?)". Improved ground connection at body and now have both tail lights. Check w multimeter proves No power at the last fuse (is it #1 or#8? ) going to headlight switch, it's dead there! What's missing?
What source off main harness should connect to this fuse panel position?

Found a new proper for year 65 headlight switch in parts hoard and will use it instead. Quite confused where my hot source( from alternator B+?) went to... or how I'm missing seeing it --where? .But obviously the problem. _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |

I'm sure VW Jimbo meant "trunk". He's a wizz at welding/fabricating, but like many of us, his typos can get away from him once in a while. _________________ .

Power from fuse panel to term 58 at light switch was absent, now replaced, haven't powered up to verify yet because--
While working back thru this and installing proper headlight switch, obviously there is no terminal 57 for parking lights-- can I solder a connector to the contact --or is there an alternative wire routing so park lights will work? Some progress- Now have both stop lights, all turn signals, R side low beam and park light (suspect bulb is problem no high beam?):, L-side has Hi/low beam, no park light.
No tail lights. Blowing fuse on circuit (fuse 3 or is it 6?) thats connecting #58 headlight switch and R front park light and R rear tail light. Will pull bulbs if that will help isolate, not sure exactly what to do. _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |
