Cloth upholstery 1972 Super Beetle

Hello everybody,
I am looking for photos of seats with original cloth upholstery from the 1972 Super Beetle.
I can only find photos of seats with leatherette upholstery.

Thanks for the photo. The seats don't seem to be original, the Super Beetle always has headrests.

That’s incorrect. For non-US beetles, headrests were optional and did not become standard till later. My 71 is a low back.

Over 30 years ago I bought a yellow rusty '72 Super Beetle from a local gas station as a parts car. It was a US version and had cloth seats with the integrated headrests! I kept them all these years, storing them under my rear porch. Just went out to look at them. The cloth color is a dark blue, with the seat bottom sides and seatback rear being black vinyl. I'm having issues with my PC with photo editing so I can't provide a photo...

They have the same fine-weave cloth and the 7 seams as in diamondblue69's photo above. The cloth comes up most of the way on the backrest and stops just below the 2 buttons at the base of the headrest, making a straight line across the backrest there. The headrest face on the front-facing surface of the backrest is also black vinyl just like the rear of the backrest.

Is the cloth upholstery cord or velour?
On the German VW 1302 (1972) it was cord, on the Super Beetle it looks different in the brochure.

Bernie, my seats have the narrow cords shown under the "Cord" brochure images, again; just like in diamondblue69's photo above of a no-headrest interior.

Strangely, it doesn't look like cord in the pictures in the brochure.
