What have you broken on the trail?

I carry a lot of "normal" spare parts but also some weird things. One of the neatest, are the emergency tire stems. Ripping a tire stem out on a rock happens. It's never happened to me but it has happened to people I know. Pop the old remains out, slide the new one in, fill it with air and be on your way. I also carry a can of engine starter spray in case the tire comes off of the rim. Boom! Voila! It's reseated!

I do carry a spare oil filter in case a rock nicks it and a few distributor parts but an entire distributor? Are VW distributors so unreliable that you have to carry a spare?
