Who can tell me about the CB Performance 3267 space saver manifolds? I tried searching but most of what I found was about running a different fan shroud. Will the CB linkage that I already have work? If not do I modify mine or have to buy new? Since the carbs are turned around how does the linkage connect to the throttle arm linkage? What other mods are necessary?
Thanks |

Yes, you need a 36 hp fan housing.
No, the hex bar doesnt fit. Needs to be modified, or buy the right length.
No, the linkage - installs on the butt end of the carbs so hardware is different.
(This kit actually work relatively better with Webers than Dells)
Do not use space savers unless you have to, say in a pre 60 body. If your engine has some umph it will cost you on power compÄared to regular off set manifolds. _________________ https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435993 |

They'll be in a 63 Bug with a 2180. It will be Webers. I already have the 36hp style shroud. I wonder where to find the different hardware, the pics of the CB kit don't show any. I was thinking about the space saver because it has those stainless trim panels in the engine compartment & they take up a little room. I know another option "should" be to remove the panels, but the wife likes them so they have to stay. Why the loss of power? Is it just a poor design or smaller ports? |
