How disappointed was she when she needed the bathroom during a rain like that? |
Well, both her and I, are from a part of the country where it rains 400+ days outta the year,, so it's kinda've a non-issue...
BUT, in this instance, it involved a magical encounter.
At some point, she shook me awake and said something is moving around out there. Not in a panicky way, but more of an "in awe" way. I looked out and it was a herd of maybe a dozen foraging deer. She decided she didn't wanna scare them, but eventually, the bladder won the argument.
Of course, I had to escort her to the outhouse about 100 yrds away.
I slid open the slider, and all the deer glanced at us for a moment. Some went back to foraging. There were a few that were maybe 3 ft away from the slider. None of them ran! Several actually approached us. A few started to follow us.
They were still hanging around the van when we got back.
Yep, she thought the whole thing was phenomenally amazing.... |

In the background of one of the "Fast and the furious" movies-
I've not watched the movie but the scene reminds me of the Neptune's Net restaurant along Pacific Coast Highway (US Route 1) north of Malibu, California.
-edit- Ja wohl, IMDB's filming locations for the first movie (2001) lists the 'Net! |

There was an ICE raid to find "deportables" at the San Diego-based Italian restaurant chain Buona Forchetta on May 31, 2025. It attracted some interested citizens. Vanagon makes a cameo appearance.

Engine swap prep in Gaza. This tintop is being used to distribute a few bags of flour to Nuseirat.

Yeah, I mean why not. Not every car is a Pebble Beach candidate. Sometimes we're just trying to get a few more years out of a vehicle. _________________ '87 Syncro Ferric Oxyhydroxide Superleggera Edition

I gotta admire this lass and her determination.
She loves her early Air-cooled Vanagon and wants to fix the body the best she can.
Man! I know I am old enough to be her father but I could easily fall in love with her _________________ Current owner of 1980 T25 Westphalia Joker.

Looked it up; clearance height is 8'0" so a stock Westy will fit with plenty of room to spare but that lifted pickup might not. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic, tragically crushed by a falling hickory tree in my own driveway and now gone, leaving me Vanagonless and with no plans to replace it, alas. |

The truck went under without issue. The video is on FB:
https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=712516911525406&id=100083013113543
There was an issue with the Westy turning left, hence the FB post. _________________ ~Kamz

8 min, 55 seconds into Resident Alien: S4 Ep3.
Tudyk to attach the clip but it's worth the search.
Bonus points if you can name the song they borrowed the organ groove from. |

There is a massive RV park right along I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs named Jellystone Larkspur. This place has resort-level amenities. Not exactly our speed of “camping” but to each their own.
