^^^ That is some top notch craftsmanship right there. Beautifully executed.

Thank you kindly for the compliments guys. It was one of those things that spiraled outta control and I was like, "well, if I'm gonna finish this I'm gonna finish it right." I was driven mainly by the desire to have that specific look with the rocker pockets I hadn't seen before, and prove that I was at worst, the World's Okayest CNC Machiner. Laughing It was cool seeing how much intricacy I could extract from my little Tree knee mill in the garage. Now it's time to break out the big guns.

I'll get back with you on exact pricing, and timing of the production run. I should have enough to get you set up with a set Modok, out of this first run. I do believe that leaves one set not spoken for. The rest are spoken for, heading to friends and family.

I know nothing really, but I can say those valve covers are beautiful. They look to me to be very well engineered.

Your engine sounds amazing.

yeh, definitely very cool.
you know you might could do a pre-order special run, like plan on doing xx number and get prepayment so your not forking out the money for a run and hoping they sell. im sure there's plenty of guys on here that'd be in for something like that considering its someone they talk to regularly let alone the unique design. just an idea

Those are great covers, well done!

Any chance there’s enough material to add a dovetail O-ring groove to seal the covers to the head instead of a flat gasket?

X5 (or whatever we're up to by now). I'd also like a set, Jim.

Great news all, and to address all your comments and questions:

First of all, I have 12 sets that will be through my machine shop today, and more coming. Then they have to go to coatings. All hardware and laser cut badging is in-hand. I have my CNC of course, but I partnered with a longtime friend who started a shop with some REALLY capable tools that can get rid of seemingly impossible amounts of aluminum real fast. The major benefit there is that I was present for almost all of the first production run to ensure critical quality and aesthetic stuff. I was also the CNC programmer, with him double-checking. We use the same software so he very literally took my program that produced the covers you see, and modified speeds and feeds for his machine. They look really good, especially for a first-ever production run.

I'm looking into additional gasketing solutions. I'm machining a prototype soon to use a specific commercially available ring seal and I'll test that out. One of the things I'll always stand on is I don't want anyone to be beholden to me after the purchase. It would be a standard seal of some kind. I really view the covers that are designed to be capable of using both styles of gasketing to be quite the compromise, so I'd want to have dedicated elastomer ring seal versions and OE gasket versions.

I'll message you guys when I'm through coatings. No need to front money or pre-order, though the offers were very much appreciated. I believe in this one. Let's do this thing guys. Twisted Evil

I also invested in alternate workholding solutions to gang more parts to hopefully bring costs down on these, and the other things I'm designing.

Nice niiiice.
And you know, with the way these are designed they’re set up perfectly for if someone wanted to run an external oil spray bar line / nozzle to each spring.
