has anyone had any luck removing the synchro rings from late type 1 3-4 gears to be use on early 3-4 gears like weddle has?

I’ve heard late synchro hubs are factory welded. But, not sure that’s what your talking about. I don’t know much about transaxles.

The earlier versions were furnaced brazed and can be removed. They have a larger bore than the 113 style tho. And you are refering to the hubs not synchro rings.

Depends on what you mean exactly by late and early, maybe this?
You can use z3/4 hubs and synchros from a tunnel trans (late) in a split case trans (early) if you modify the early 3/4 clutch gear. This gets you the thicker and easier to find synchros, and back cut hub/ slider
