|
|
Hey again all. I tried the search and looked through several threads without an answer. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough...
Anyway, I'm nearly done with the rewire on my '73. Right now I'm stumped on one wire from the ignition switch plug. The two red (one w/black stripe) are clear. The solid black has a connection and the other black with yellow links up. It's the last one, a smaller diameter wire with what looks to be a solid black with brown stripe and a terminal plug on the end. I can't seem to find where it goes. Even the 73' wiring diagram shown only four wires instead of five on the starter switch.
Is this something easy I'm overlooking?

If you look at track #29 on the diagram you posted you'll see a wire named SU (Johnny Cash song?), why it's not depicted as part of the ignition switch is a mystery, and why it's often a different color is also odd, but bottom line is it operates the key buzzer. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Fantastic, thank you. Good to know it's not fuction use critical. Honest to goodness this is the wire:

Don't write it off as useless yet, some have used it as a way to run a radio while the key is turned off but not removed. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Ooh, good idea! That or a 12v lighter plug (or both!) is certainly welcome. |
