70 VW front brake bleeder loction

everything I can find shows the front brake bleeder valve located on the lower brake cylinder.

Am I missing something. Seems to me that the hose should enter at the low point and the bleeder valve should be a high point where the air would like to be.

Am I missing something or should I just swap the inlet hose and the bleeder nipple?
