No reviews for TMI in the last 11 years? Guess I'll be the first.

I just bought a TMI carpet kit for my 1969 Karmann Ghia Convertible. The center console portion has no cutouts for the shift rod, e-brakes, or seatbelt bolts:

I was expecting to have a center piece like below, which is from a YouTube video from Jbugs installing TMI carpet in a Karmann Ghia (www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdXiGg3iIBA). This has cutouts and rubber seams/grommets around the cutouts:

I called TMI to ask if there was an option for the cutouts that maybe I missed, or can I bring the center carpet piece to them and they can add the cutouts (or at least the cutout for the shifter), or can I buy the center carpet with the cutouts. The answer from TMI is no, they don't make the carpet like that, they don't put those cutouts on Ghia kits, they can't add the cutouts or sell me a piece with the cutouts. It's up to me to make the cuts and make it look okay. When I asked about the Jbugs installation on the YouTube video, TMI would only say they don't make their kits that way at all.

That's crappy service to change your kits, surprise your customers, and have no way to fix the issue. I want to warn others about it.

My bug kit was the same way. Otherwise they were nice though. A little advice for when you install, cut the holes smaller than you think.

Maybe call JBugs and see what they know that TMI does not.

That Jbugs photo is using TMI's "Premium" carpet kit. The Premium kits are precut, the standard kits are not. The standard kits can be done very well but Premium is what you are referring to

Not really certain why you would get that answer from TMI
