STILL working on my 1956 that I restored in 1986.. My current (original) turn signal switch doesn't stay engaged. Have sprayed it thoroughly with electrical contact cleaner, but still sticks. It looks to me that that the springs are still in tact. Should I keep trying to clean it up or replace it? I did get a replacement that is the internal part only with the 6 wires as the casing is in good shape. Will the wires match up in terms of the black with green stripe etc to make for simple replacement behind the dash? Also, is it that part on the back side of the steering wheel that cancels the signal when the wheel is turned back to neutral? Thanks for any insights. Ann |
