Bow Thruster being serviced. This is an electric motor, with a big blade, it can pull or push, and will suck you in if you get too close....

An oppsie, house boat on its side..
another boat meeting its end via the claw...
A tiny tug, named IRON GENIE, note the two orange buckets over the exhaust stacks...
A larger tug with a tall pilot house, the bumpers or fenders around her, are made from old tires...

The blue boat still had its original name, Cape Romain. all three belonged to the Sea Scouts after US service. the Cape Romain was scrapped a couple years ago, and the white one, the Challenger was sold. Only the grey Olympic Venture remains in the Port of Redwood City today, serving the Sea Scouts. Originally all were named after various capes, hence the Cape class.

Rudder and the sacrificial electrode blocks attacked to hull, and the eyelets, the eyelets are there for block and tackle rigging for replacement of the prop, often the most sacrificial electrodes are placed in the vicinity of the propeller, the reason being is that the propeller is bronze, bronze in contact with a steel shaft and hull, and that pair of dissimilar metals will rapidly corrode the steel without the help of the sacrificial electrodes ..
Self unloading ship, with a huge arm to transfer aggrigate ..

A flying boat (Oakland Air Museum) Yes this is the Indiana Jones Movie aircraft, It is a Short Solent, and interestingly is powered by four Bristol 18 cylinder radial sleeve valve engines

A Lettmann glass kayak, circa 1970's, This is one of the earliest commercial fiberglass kayaks sold, prior to that, most were DIY home builds. weighs around 25 lbs, has air bags for flotation incase she gets swamped, with a flat bottom, she surfs decently too. She is just short enough to fit inside a Vanagon at an angle, with just inches to spare, tailgate to windshield. This boat sees 1000s of miles per year of use This boat was built by HiPP the American authorized builder. Lettmann was know for good hull designs. As this is a slalom boat, a small removable skeg has been added to aid tracking for open water routes.

Low tide on the mud, but she will refloat when the tide comes back. The tide high to low can be near ten feet and yes, that is a lady sunbathing on the deck...

An airboat, V8 power, a fun ride, you sit up high, and of course need ear protection as the V8 has little muffling, she planes over the water, the mud, the grass land with ease The bottom is covered with Teflon sheets to help her glide over obstacles ( I wonder if I should use that on my jeep???) I was given a ride one weekend on this airboat, always wanted to ride one since I was a little kid and saw airboats used on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom TV show. You all remember that TV show? ...
The local power company also has an airboat, larger for about eight people, and it has counter rotating twin propellers! They use it to service the high tension towers out in the bay
The owner of this boat is from New Orleans, and was doing contract work out here.
Sailing the tri hull. the owner of this trihull also owns an early european VW Ghia...

My mother made the sail
Sad tale-tale....drove out to a local lake, set sail, busted by the Coast Guard - not licensed 
Need to find the original and rescan with a much better scanner than what I had 20+ years ago

You must have found a coast guard officer that was a real genuine turd! Seriously! What harm could come from a kid bobbing about in that?
If I was your Dad I would have asked to speak to his superior about getting the guy posted to something to occupy his time that had real value. Maybe mopping the floor and taking the garbage out?

Here's a pic of my old asymmetrical windsurfing board back in the early 90s. It was great in perfect side shore conditions but not a great general all around board.

I prefer a 5' 9" Fish but don't mind a 7' tri-fin tanker with a lot of rocker for those mushy overhead waves we get in the Shonan area of Japan.
She is getting over the nose!
Wave sailing is a lot of fun too. Here's a pic from Pistol River Oregon a few years ago.
