No - it works with the stock cable _________________ -Thom

Usually. On my 65 truck, I needed a different year cable; I ended up with a shorter one being the best fit. Possible the J bracket was not in correct place after all the truck had been through, though.
Also, make sure that nut holding the pedal to linkage is tight! A shop took mine apart to remove the mat, failed to tighten it, and it fell off and dropped pedal to floor while driving. Luckily I had a splash pan to catch nut and fix things.
Irony is shop laughed and said that wouldn't have happened if you'd stayed stock!
Despite that, I highly recommend installing these. _________________ Craig K

How about "it works with whatever cable you're currently using" - the geometry is identical, so the cable length would be identical _________________ -Thom

Truck had no cable when I got it! :) Stock cable I ordered was too long, for whatever reason. Just a note that starting from scratch may introduce variables. Baywindow had no issues when I put in linkage with same cable used on stock. _________________ Craig K

Thanks to Corey at Der Deutsch Polster and Dominic Puccinelli, I added the correct tools AND the correct cloth bags under my seats. I met Dominic at Woodburn, and he dug through his stash to find an original tool roll in mesh grey: DDP supplied the new jack bag. This week I swapped my round-head Bilstein jack to Always VDub for the appropriate 'doghouse with no tooth' jack.
Hopefully I never need any of these!

Early bay 'doghouse' jacks have a triangular stop on the arm that keeps it from going over horizontal.

Once again, what did my bus do for me today?
Yep I borrowed my 67 Westy Interstate battery for my daily driver
When I started to shop around for a replacement at the local NAPA store I was asked why I have such a high cold cranking amps for both my bus and my truck and I could not recall why I went with an 800. Is that a good choice of 800 CCA for my 1600 DP engine? BTW I love Interstate batteries but pricey.

I made my apron less red. I thought light grey was hiding under the red but it was just another coat of paint. Turkis is hiding under that…

I have one for my deluxe, but when I went to install it, I said to myself "Ok, are you *really* going to tow anything? Or are just going to bang your shins on this thing?"
