Hey all.
Just bought myself a '55 and the problem with it is that it has an decklid/engine cover of a '58-'63.
Are there any dealers out there with a great aftermarket ones so I can have the right one on it? |

I’ve seen a lot of used originals at swap meets but shipping would be a challenge, being in Hawaii you are accustomed to that. _________________ Roads Scholar

Hmmm, I seem to recall seeing HI as the location. Ah well, most US citizens wouldn’t know the difference, their all islands, afterall
Does Iceland have any vintage car shows?
German postal seems very expensive from my experience and I would think USA would be prohibitively expensive too. Is Iceland part of the EU?
Edit: to answer my own question; Iceland does not belong to the EU, but does belong to other economic agreements along with Europe. I’ll leave it to others to share wether that includes any shipping agreements.
There don’t appear to be any national wide VW events in Iceland. Vintage VW’s can often be seen at car shows and cruises. There is a company that rents Buses to tour the country. This according to AI. _________________ Roads Scholar

Living in Iceland you get used to high shipping so that's not an issue.
The vintage car, specially VW, community here is pretty tight and solid but the problem is that when less then 400.000people live on a big island you have limited resources. Been reaching out and no one seems to have it so I guess I will go for used original one. Car shows, we have, but swap and meet not so much, plus there is shitty weather here 325 days a year

The other one is there but yeah the wipers need to be worked on for sure. Going to use the winter to work on it. |

So I may be late to the party but...the one on Justkampers...it states 55-57 fitment but everything I know about decklids has told me the 53-55 are the same, then 56-
Am I wrong? Or is justkampers?
Also the German one is not a big spring (53-55) if that matters.. _________________ 54 Oval |

I guess I need to look at the vin and look it up. It seems the car was manufactured after july 55 wich would make it a 56 model year even though the production year is 1955. |
