Hi Guys,
I am having trouble getting my spare tire to put pressurised air into the windscreen washer bottle
Between the spare tire and the bottle I am using one of these:
Helphos spare tire hose (Luftentnahmeschlauch)
The problem seems to be that no matter how tight I screw on the hose to the spare tire (inflated to 26psi) no air is released?
It's as if the valve needle in the tire...
Is not being depressed by the hose attachment?
Does anybody else have any experience with these devices or can offer any advice as to what I might be doing wrong.
I thought it was going to be a 'screw on and good to go' affair but that's not the case
Thanks in advance for any help
Russell
PS. The reason for the Luftentnahmeschlauch is that it cuts off the air supply to the bottle once the tyre reaches 17psi saving you from a flat tire down the track |

Inflate your spare to 42psi.
The valve is supposed to stop working at low pressure so your spare tire is never flat. It is doing what it's supposed to do.

Thanks Bruce your suggestion worked, I mistakenly assumed it would work at road pressure |

Hmm, now with pressure above 30psi water is squirting out of the washer jet nozzles without the button being depressed
It seems the Luftentnahmeschlauch valve wants more pressure to work properly but the nozzle jets want less?
It's strange because the Washer/wiper switch was bought new a year ago and has not been installed in the car yet
I can only assumer the switch is at fault and cant hold back 30+ psi without leaking.
Anybody else had a problem with the Washer/Wiper switch valve not holding back water? |

Did you stick with just a regular hose Nicholas, or make the the jump to electric?
(I'm starting to consider electric myself at the moment!) |
