Valley Westys in Staunton VA had one like this in progress a few years ago when I stopped by. Got pix and probably posted them before but ill try to find them again. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic, tragically crushed by a falling hickory tree in my own driveway and now gone, leaving me Vanagonless and with no plans to replace it, alas. |

Watching the 1995 video of when a tank was stolen from National Guard and rampaged San Diego.
It looks like it took out a Vanagon at 5:53 seconds.

There was an LT at the Bug Run this year. I think he rolled by Saturday afternoon while I was chatting with you on the Pit Road.
I really wanted to have a better look at the LT but, I couldn't find it. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Looks more like a MANN/VW overlander that was developed for the Sahara desert races. I have run into two of these over the years and even have pics of both. One couple I met in Corpus Christi, TX. They were on an around the world tour and had just driver the length of South America and were headed north to Alaska after some beach time! The other was at Upheaval Dome in the north part of the Canyonlands. No-one was around to talk to but it had Euro plates. If I could find the pictures I could post them up.
