I'm trying to fit a side facing seat/storage box with the swivel table attached.
Can anybody help with how the cushion base is supported please?
Pics will be very helpful, and also some of the bottom of the cushion base as well.
Thanks.

If it's meant to be anything like the set-up in the Westfalia Continental, there should probably be a an up-side-down U-section steel support front to rear between the front-facing & rear-facing seats you illustrate.

Why do you wish to retro-fit a low-level side-facing seat, which will probably be too low for dining at the swivel-table and which should NOT be used whilst the vehicle is in motion, as emphatically stated in English & German on the sticker in the Westfalia Continental models!

That's a slightly odd layout, but I'll bet the side seat is similar to that rear facing jump seat, you are missing a board screwed to the wall for the cushion to perch on.

My Westy has that seat and I can post some pics of the support later today. Not at home right now.

I've got the steel section that fits on the top of the board.
Why would it be too low, it's the same height as the bed and buddy seat.

Any pics of the board please?

The seal around the lid makes me think that's a gas bottle locker, is it vented through the floor?

Sparky's has a door on the side, it's not nearly as air tight.

No vent that I can discern, although the propane tank is in the adjacent cabinet under the sink.

Owing to the downward viewing angle, one cannot clearly see the relative heights of your rear, side & front seat boxes!

On my early-1973 model-year (manuafactured in late-August or early-September 1972) VW "1600" Westfalia Continental, the upper surface of side seat's horizontal upholstered cushion with plywood base, is much LOWER than the upper surface of the rear bench seat's horizontal upholstered cushion with plywood base!

The horizontal cushion for the side seat is MUCH thinner than the horizontal cushion for the rear bench seat.

In common with the freestanding stool, this side seat was too low for dining at the swivelling, hinged dining table; even for a person with short legs and long torso.

If your side seat configuration is different from this, then so be it.

Noting that your rearward facing seat is NOT equipped with a rear head-restraint (not a head-rest), I hope you don't intend that seat to be occupied when the vehicle is being driven!?! In the event of a collision, there would be a serious risk of a broken neck, leading to death or tetraplegia!
