Stop and go driving with road construction. 111 degrees. Just because.
Pics are idling in car after returning from a drive through hellish weather. Weather temp is within the hour.

An interesting thing happens in forums where everyone starts parroting the same thing and "common knowledge" takes over.
Most experts aren't. |

Maybe 330f in the construction zone.
What really piques my interest is the oil temp. Don't know what % the synthetic 5w-20 plays, but she's a happy camper. |

There you go! Light oil picks up and sheds heat quicker than heavy oil. It moves through the system quicker too more gallons/hour also means better cooling. Win, win all around!
Thanks for that observation! _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |

That's part of the equation. Front mount RX7 oil cooler is a big part too. Yesterday mid morning keeping up with Sunday traffic on the interstate doing about 75mph for several miles. The oil temp was in the 120s. Pretty much the faster I go the lower the temp. |

If you are not in AZ, every 'high temp" on the news elsewhere is BS.
They report the temperature at the Phoenix airport, on the tarmac.
When I've seen things posted, it's usually around 10F higher than at my house _________________ How to Post Photos

I wish it was 132 for about 10 minutes so I can torture test my cars even more.
They have to earn my trust. |
