| Is the steering gear different between link pin and ball joint? I'm looking at them and only see them divided by years. I thought a front end was only either link pin, ball joint or strut. |

The 1961 and later are basically the same steering box.
In 1966 the pitman changed and added a steering stop to it with the ball joint front suspension.
A king pin front suspension used the front backing plate bolt as steering stops.
The 1960 and earlier steering box use a different pitman arm that fit the larger shaft in the box.
The ball joint pitman arm to approx. 1967-1/2 uses smaller tapered tie rod ends and the later ones a lager tapered and 12mm nut.
