I have searched everywhere, I am almost sure I saw a guide for getting the latch apart to put on a new window & cannot find again. Anyone?
Some lovely piece of humanity broke the driver vent (triangle) last night. Interrupted but didn't prevent sadly.
Intending to cut a piece of acrylic cuz I am done. Maybe 9th time since we got the van in 1998.
1991 Vanagon GL Subagon...Vanaru but doesn't matter for window.
Thanks

Yup, and afrtermarket ones are shit made in Turkey: too thin, wrong curvature.
My friend met with the manufacturer as he's Turkish/French and into VW parts.
They told him to go pound sand, they don't care. Don't buy that aftermarket glass. _________________ Silicone Steering Boots and 930 Cv boots for sale in the classifieds.

If you are making something, seems obvious to use the opposite vent window for a template. I’d use some Lexan. It’s available in different thicknesses. It’s crack proof sort of, cuts with a saber saw, and with practice can be slightly molded using heat. Plexiglass only in emergency. It looks similar, but no where as strong.
Personally I’d rather have fixed glass. I never use them and they aren’t 100% air and water proof. |
