Is that the Baker show, or something else?

Thanks. This was at the Capistrano VW dealership takeover show on July 13, 2025. They did a big awning display and I was lucky to have a rad spot up front. |

Anchovy! What a great thread man! I have a small lantern collection and a low light I'm slowly restoring, so much inspiration here thanks for sharing everything! _________________ 1972 Super Beetle owned since 2005

This tent came with the my bus when I purchased it from the previous owner. It's a smaller drive away style tent but it's in nice shape. I don't see any labels or markings as to who manufactured it. Does anyone have an idea and does this tent help to identify the camper kit?
EDIT: Looks like this is the White Stag universal side tent that was used by ASI.
The top of the tent has a flap with a metal rod in it that rests in the drip rail and there are three snaps on the tent and bus to close off the bottom skirt.
This was in with the paperwork from the PO. Notice the slider door.

It being from Boise, I'd say its a highly likely a Riviera, they were retrofitted out of Oregon (Burns?). I have a little pop like yours but I had a different cabinet setup, the holes in the floor behind the passenger seat look to be in the exact same spot as mine, I'm missing that cabinet. _________________ 1972 Super Beetle owned since 2005

It's looking more like that. The bus was sold new at Brewington Motors in Olympia Washington and serviced there and at Pete Lovely VW in Tacoma. |

That is a Riviera... PNW conversion from the biggest VW dealer on the west coast.
Albeit, a much less common configuration of Riviera camper...
The turret top and bed hinges are spot on.

Very cool, we have been using our Stag tent for some 10 years, same blue and yellow you have. We do not have a slider door bus...
Here is literature for a Sundial with same tent

Good stuff! I have seen three different versions of this yellow and blue tent now.
One is like mine with a yellow body and blue front and rear panels. I think this the first version. Then there is the blue body and yellow front and rear panels like yours. Finally, one like mine by with a blue border around the side windows.
I've seen ads for this style tent hooked up to American make vans and they call it a universal side tent. Those seem to have much longer flaps to hook to the side door compared to the "VW" version.
Is your tent marked with the makers label? |

Interesting on three different versions. Ours has the yellow front, do not remember seeing the tag, we just used it this weekend too. I will look for a tag one day and report back

When I went to my 1904cc motor it came with an A1 Sidewinder exhaust system. I like it but the exhaust tip was pointed down so whenever I was on dirt I was blasting dust everywhere. Recently I switched to General Grabber tires and the clearance was about an inch between the muffler and the inner sidewall. I decided to rotate the muffler away from the tire and reroute the exhaust tip out the back.
I tried to get in at A1 in Santa Ana but could never get scheduled in there so I went local at Warner's Muffler in Oceanside, CA. They did a great job and even added in an isolator. No more leaf blower and the tire has some space.

Restored this beat down westy stool with new vinyl. Blasted and powder coated the frame. New rubber feet as well. Also got the right color snaps. Overall not bad.

Thirty years ago I picked up one up at the swap meet that was a bit different. Not sure if it was a home made thing or if Westy had this, but the top cover and cushion could be unsnapped and removed. Under it on the plywood was a hole with a toilet seat attached with a hinge that allowed a bag to be hung under it. Worked great for the ladies camping. Unfortunately that seat has found its way back to the swap meet and is gone. _________________ Prosit!

Rad times camping over the long weekend. A different campground each night: Refugio State Beach, Pismo - Oceano Dunes, Lake Cachuma, Freedog Farms @ Cactus Flower Ranch and then Malibu. More pics in my gallery.
