There is a Helena, MT band, 710 Ashbury. Saw them a few weeks ago at Pine Creek Lodge, in the Paradise valley. Drove over and camped in the bus. "And a kind hippy girl shared my bed" My wife.

I have been listening to the dead since '72. Started going to shows in '89 at RFK in DC, last saw the Grateful Dead in '95 in Portland, Oregon. Got into buses in '92 when I bought my first car, a '66 21 window deluxe bus. I would walk the parking lots at dead shows checking out all the buses. There were generally more bays than splits, but still plenty of split buses. Never saw a barndoor on tour. I drove my '61 mango bus to 13 dead shows. I still drive it today. _________________ .

I grew up in the Grateful Dead era but knew nothing about them beyond recognizing the DH name. To illustrate my ignorance:
Standing around a campfire at a Buses By the Bridge camp out I cracked what I intended to be a joke. I stated that I had been to several concerts but had never made it into the venue. When I was asked why, I continued that I stayed in the parking lot and stole parts off of Buses. Need I say that my punch line had an impact? They were ready to throw me into the bon fire. It took some fast talking and a hasty exit to get out of that sit e ation! Later I learned that having parts go missing while at a concert was fairly common- oops. _________________ Roads Scholar

I went to some shows but was unable to get tickets, so I just partied in the lot with others.
At one show a Bus engine was stolen. _________________ Glenn
