Hey there. My '68 Fastback has hinges for the rear lid but no springs. I'm getting conflicting information regarding the type of spring that's used. Can someone please clarify what I need and where I might find some?
The item identified on the parts image doesn't seem to be what I need (so I'm told). I'm a newb based in the UK

Yup, those are what you're looking for...fastback only Torsion bars for the rear trunk lid. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks but if you look at the third of Mike's photos below, it doesn't have torsion bars... |

It's the two pieces in blue that I've been told I need, not the torsion bars... ?? |

If I remember right, those in the blue circles are ramps for the hinges. The torsion bars are hidden above out of site. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Photo from the gallery. That piece acts as a stop for the hinge and guard for the torsion springs. Also holds the switch for the trunk light on the passenger side. Someone please correct me if any of that is inaccurate, my car is in storage and I'm not able to just go look right now. But, going off memory, I don't think anything rides that bracket. I hope this is helpful.

Suggestion: Now that you have had the "aHA!" moment about how priceless TheSamba is, maybe actually put a price on it and donate?
