The stuff has to go. It's held on with plastic plugs that insert into holes in the bodyshell. What do/can I use to replace it, want a quiet car.

Ok, I found I had got this stuff and it looks like firewall inslation to me.

I made some little plugs to fit in the mounting holes, so when I pressed my template against them they'd mark the hole locations.

This was the third try at marking them, the first one I just pressed the template against the hole but it didn't leave a particlarly obvious mark. The second was another template with little flaps covering the supposed hole locations, put it on the firewall, opened the flaps and marked intersecting lines at the edges to show where the hole should be. Neither of these gave me enough confidence, so I went with the wee pointy plugs.

Where did you get the material from. I will be looking for some in the near future.

I sprayed the lizzard skin sound deadner on one, I didn't have anything to compare it to, as there was no insulation on it when I got it. It's not too bad, but still pretty loud. I don't have a radio in the car.
