i did this maybe 45 years ago , drilled 2 holes in this ashtray , thru the cover and tray both so i have a nut n washer inside , the lower one doesnt have enough room to get a nut on it but doesnt really need it , the one nut is fine !!! ok years go by and go more for the clean look and just have stock painted red ashtray in a 53 i have had for about 50 years .......well i find this ashtray the other day and thought ya know ? that was a pretty good idea !!! so im gona put this back in for a while ......look at the side profile it has like the perfect contour as the ashtray/dash. fits n looks good to me ? im not exactly sure where you were supposed to mount these you got em back in the day ???
at one point i had the hood emblem on there as well . in my youth i went cal bug , then later in life i went back to original look , but i love accessories !!!
how did one actually get one of these back in the day ?
