How's it coming along?
Is it purring like a kitten and ready to drive back to the body shop? _________________ -Kent-

Thanks for asking..........
We've had a small revision to the build sequence - as the shop would now prefer to just power thru and get the bodywork done and then I'll take possession back. This is just making this most convenient for the Shop - which I really want to keep content.....just in case I ever need them again.
I'll post an update in a few days - but AirSchooled has been here (and gone and back and gone again this afternoon) and we started assembling mechanicals and making lists and lists and more lists.
Stay tuned............ _________________ '75 Riviera - 'BIG EMMA' - Travel Beast

Here is the first of two updates.
This one is not all that exciting, so I don't think I need to say much
Here is the bus at the shop yesterday.
The plan now is for the bus to stay at the shop until its completed and then get it back to the house for the build. I don't think any of these have any of the final exterior color visible.
Its a little bit of a darker, slightly more metallic green (not the color you can currently see on the dusty doors) with white above the beltline.
the doors just lazing around:
I get working on the engine update and hopefully post that tomorrow. _________________ '75 Riviera - 'BIG EMMA' - Travel Beast

And - The Engine / Exhaust update.
Robbie and I made progress on the engine (OK - mostly Robbie)
Again - maybe not everyone's cup of tea - but I like it.
The Exhaust paraphernalia
And - The Engine
You may notice one shiny green spark plug wire.
That's an attempt at some wire bling.
Undecided on the option.
I'm still doing miscellaneous cleaning, fixing, and assembling other bits while I wait for the carcas to be completed. _________________ '75 Riviera - 'BIG EMMA' - Travel Beast

Still nothing that everyone has not seen a thousand times (or more).
This week we got white from the beltline up.
In the home stretch - more color at the end of this week - fingers crossed.
FYI - Running total is just over $28k - ouch. _________________ '75 Riviera - 'BIG EMMA' - Travel Beast

Next stage of completeness.
We have a slight slow down with the shop as we had our first snow storm (early) of the season a few days ago, and no one remembers how to drive yet.
They have a lot of front and rear bumper work to do.
It pays a lot better than grinding away on some 50 year old panels.
When the snow melts enough, we'll get this back to my garage..... might be a while as its currently 10 degrees here and isn't supposed to get above freezing for about a week or more. _________________ '75 Riviera - 'BIG EMMA' - Travel Beast

Home to the messy overfilled garage.
I don't think much will get accomplished on the project over the next couple of weeks.
At least in my unheated garage.
Its supposed to be -7 Saturday morning......

for as fussy as some of you fuckers tend to be, painting over the air cleaner grommet and clasp is insane. And what the fuck is that plowed on poop over the rear corner in the battery tray area? Looks like it was applied with a cake spatula and a rusty trowel. And the transmission mount?
good job, I guess?
Sorry, I couldn't fathom going this deep and fucking up things like that _________________

I just couldn't imagine lending a blind eye to it especially if I was paying to have it done. I guess I was harsh but none of what I said was untrue _________________

Maybe you can fix the rust with a wire brush and some rustoleum..
That green and white combo looks gorgeous. _________________ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ πΊπΈ π π π |
