Good Morning All. I appreciate all of the info I have found on this site. You all are amazing.

I was trying just now to purchase one of these swivel bases from CMC. There does not seem to be active links on their page to purchase. Has anyone bought onerecently? I reached out to them and will let you know if they are still being sold.

They already reached out to me, great service and will purchase now.

I purchased the busdepot swivel. HEAVY and very well made. No instructions but it really can only go on one way. I had to remove the rear facing jumpseat bracket but I don't use that seat anyway. It's a little stiff so I hope that it loosens up a bit with more use. It raises the seat about 1 3/8" so I will not be installing one on the driver's seat since I'm 6'3" and my head would just about touch the ceiling.

For those with the CMC Swivel, with the loss in the under seat capacity on drivers side, if replacing aux with a lithium, would you be able to keep the aux location under the drivers seat? Looks like the GW LiFePo4 measures in at only approx 8x7x7.

Just installed the BusDepot / Sportscraft swivel into my '02 Weekender. No clearance issues with the jumpseat bracket at all. See pics below.

It looks like there's still room to cut about 1/2in out of the base without interference. I'll try it this way for a bit and may get more creative when the weather outside is warmer.

That is very interesting. Mine sat on a slight angle tilting toward the front, I would have been able to screw it down, but not all the way. I wonder if there are a few different versions.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll take it apart again, although I have already made use of the new space underneath.

When i bought my 03 MV i discovered that it has the lock box and the swivel passenger base but the PO mounted the jump seat base to the back of the swivel effectively making in a fixed mount seat.
I need the jump seat mount to be about 3/4 shorter.

Would anyone be able to advise me on a 1993 Eurovan mv swivel seat adapter and the issues it is with the original seat belt? I can see my seat belt comes below the slider seat part. I remember reading a post about someone cutting the bottom of this belt off. The part that hangs below the sliders. However I can’t find this post to save my life. Does anyone have images and or advise on this issue?

I relocated my seatbelt receiver to the seat frame on my 93. That’s where they are mounted in the later model vans. Here’s the link to what I bought and had to do to install.

Yea I saw that post. Thank you for sending it to me as well. I’m still wondering about potential cutting off part of it so it can be used. I’m trying to use what I got because so many parts are hard to come by and so expensive. I do have both of my rear facing seat belts still there that I don’t use. I am thinking I might be able to just use those somehow. If anyone can shine so light on this or advise on how to use what I have that would be great.

Yes, that's what I did essentially. I cut down the support on a seat belt receiver that I already had. I could have used the receiver from the van, but I already had a compatible one from a Passat loose, to work with. I was going to use the vans receiver to do the same if I made an error setting up the Passat receiver.

Thank you. I’ll work around what I got and see what happens. Thanks again.

Has anyone tried using this product?
https://www.svbaccessories.co.uk/shop#!/products/vw-t4-swivel-base

Here is a video of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU63SgeBc-U

Three thoughts:

- A bit pricey, but it is a direct bolt in and retains seat height.
- might loose the passenger rear facing seat... but there may be a possibility to reattach the back facing seat brace/stud since their base is made of metal.
- You loose the 2nd battery under the driver seat... but I was thinking of redoing the cooler option/2nd battery with a different solar/electrical set up as there has been much advancement in this area since 2002.

If you camp in an EVC you really appreciate all the space between the downstairs bed and the front seats. When we bought our weekender and drove it home from California, we found that we had to remove the jumpseat at night, and with the passenger seat in a fixed-forward position, it felt like there was just NO room when you got out of bed.

My solution was to swap the passenger seat base from the Weekender over to the EVC, in the driver's position, which I would rotate backwards maybe once every blue moon. (Having the weekender base in the EVC also provides a little extra storage up front in a van where we make use of every possible storage spot there is.)

Now when we sleep in the Weekender, as we have been this week, with no jump seat, and the passenger's seat swiveled, it really feels like things are quite roomy at night. Not on same scale as an EVC, with its extra wheelbase, but way roomier than the original setup. Having a seat to put shoes on when you're about to step outside for the first time in the morning is a must for me.

I am so sorry to jump on the “how the heck did you do this” bandwagon, but also, how did you do this?!

We just got a new-to-us 03 Weekender and a swivel base for the front passenger seat is on my to do list, but I’m also using it to carpool with the neighbors and I need to be able to seat five kids in the back, so I really don’t want to lose the jump seat bracket!

There’s posts after this one showing other folks who used what looks to be the same swivel base and they had to remove the bracket. I feel like I’m missing something here; was the swivel base modified so it would fit without bracket removal?

When using the Sportcraft swivel, you do not need to remove the passenger side jump seat bracket, just the jump seat itself.

The swivel was the first thing I installed on our 2003 Weekender.

I can't help with this question but, I am wondering if you are "Pennyroyals" on reddit?

Yep, that’s me! We ended up buying that eurovan! And immediately broke the sliding door latch. It’s been replaced and I’m hoping she’ll keep over the holidays; we still have quite a laundry list of repairs to get to, but the urgent ones (driver CV boot and tie rods) are done.

I see that Bus Depot has a couple swivel bases; but none of them say the make; how can I be certain I’m getting the Sportscraft one? And, if the seat is locked forward, can I use the jump seat? I am assuming I just can’t swivel unless the jump seat is removed, which is fine.
