I don't know if any one can help me but I have a 69 bug with a 1600dp and a webber progressive carb. the problem is if I hammer the peddle and let off, the accelerator stays open on the other hand it never goes back to idle it stays open a little bit. the cable fits so I don't know if the springs on the pedal assembly are shot or the spring on the carb is bad. also I don't know if this has something to do with he carb problem but the engine stalls out and the temp light is always on even when I just start the vehicle up any help or suggestions is appreciated.

I had this problem with my Dellortos. It turned out that I was not leaving enough slack in my cable. I wanted it tight for less slop in the pedal you have to some slack in the cable or it will bind. I hope this is it. If your at Camp Pendleton I can help you if you need it I work in 21 area.
good luck. |
