|
|
The main dudes behind the Bulletbus are now ready to move on to other projects, and are looking for a new custodian(s) for it's next life, a life many of you here helped grant it. In an effort to transfer it ethically to it's next chapter, we could only find it proper to first offer it to the doners who last year pooled hundreds of pounds of parts and effort to help bring it back to life. And live, it does; you'll be proud to know in two weeks, it's going on the Mt Shasta Snow Trip with one very insane Paul Cullen hailing all the way from Ireland (claims he's gonna' sleep in it rain or snow!). So, as many of you have shared, so too, does the Bulletbus now share. But as curators, we three must move on, and, set free to go, the Bulletbus will be given a new life with someone else.
In celebration of bringing an amazing bus back to life in such an amazing way, we're going to pony up $1000 bucks and throw a wild-ass party for all the doners and thesamba family to attend. Where and when is unknown at this time, as the bus has to sell first.
The program is as follows. If any of the doners want the bus they'll have until February to consummate a deal, after the SST, the Bulletbus is going up on Ebay to see what kind of outside interest it will generate. There's a set price of $10k we want, and if it hit's Ebay we'll be setting the reserve at $10k too. What is a given however, is that there WILL be a party for all your help -doners and just supporters, and we'll look forward to spilling some suds then. The doners we're calling are as follows:
Thank you to everyone who contributed or supported this project. Pmail with any questions.

Brian,
That's a very nice gesture and shows the fine character and good nature of all of you. I wish I could be down there to toss a few back with all of you; sounds fun.
I can't believe someone is actually taking that bus to Shasta! Be sure to post pics of that.

I don't think they dig the 10k price tag for a bus full of holes. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Lucky for them then; no one will force them to purchase it. _________________

If I'm understanding this correctly to me it reads," For those of you that gave us parts for the bus, you have first dibs to give us 10K if not it's going to eBay".
That sound about right? |

doners = donors
as I understand it , many people donated parts and or work to get the bus going again. Sounds like it would have been fun, but If I donated parts and labor I would be a little dismayed at the current price tag being offered to the people who donated. |

Since all these kind folks donated their money, time, etc and it was all meant to be for good. Why don't you stick that baby up for auction start it at a penny and see where it goes and donate the funds to some worthy sick kids cause or something.
Heck donate it to the samba as it will go to good to help save other buses. _________________ Samba Member #95
