I want to return my bus to it's original colour when I get to the paint stage. The previous owner reckons it was something liek mouse grey over sealing wax red. Does that meand anything to anyone? Does anyone have a pic of a bus in that colourschem so I can have a look. Cheers!

try checking out wolfsburgwest.com go to their paint color section. They have a pretty thorough list of what color options were available for what particular year. Good luck.

Look under the wheelwells, behind the kick panels or door panels and I'm sure you'll find remenants of the OG paint. I'm sure it wasn't mouse grey over sealing wax red though. NAES

Thanks for the wollsburgwest tips. They reckon L53 sealing wax red/L472 beige grey and I just got a copy of the 'Fahrzeug-IdentitSts-urkunde' from the vw museum in Wolfsburg itself which confirms this and the upholstery colour too, so I guess you can rely on them people. If anyone has a pic of a bus wearing these colours, it would be cool to see what I'm in for. Thanks again.

It is sealing wax red with white. The grey is slightly darker obviously but I prefer the white even though it is not original. THere are pictures of the interior as well...
