I have a brass with red and blue enamel So Cal AAA badge. The threaded bolts on the back of the badge have been broken off Crying or Very sad. Does anyone have experience welding brass? Does it weld like steel or is anything special required? I'm a novice welder, having only welded my seat frame back together. Any help or advice would be appricated.

The dumb-ass of the year award goes to....

ME!

The badge is brass plated pot metal.

I was doing some copper plumbing around the house this last weekend. And since I had the torch, solder and flux on hand I decided to have a crack at soldering some brass threads to my badge. Now my badge has a crack and a piece chipped off the edge. Crying or Very sad It's still repairable, but I'm still pissed!
