SOmething is worn out on my sliding door on my 83 Westy, it no longer slides easy and you have to pick up the lock side a little to make it close, then you have to lean aginst the rear of the door to get it to close, anyone able to give me direction on this???
Thank You soooo much in advance.

take a close look at the top portion of the door, there should be a block that follows the guide as it closes, make sure that block, about a 2 inch part, has not broken up or broken off in the track. Sometimes that block, which follows the track wears out and allows movement of the door in and out/
Then look at the runner at the bottom of the door, make sure none of those parts are rusted out, off, or broken, make sure the track is in good order, not rusty or broken apart.
the door follows a track, on the top and on the bottom, they do wear out, become crusted with dirt,
basically, its an easy fix, just make sure the top track, runner and its block are there, grease it up, lube it, make sure it follows the track
same as the bottom
all of my vans have high miles, but only one, the 80 Westie has rust issues, and soon, when I get around to finding a ugly brown/rust colour door in a junk yard, I will replace that door, along with the drivers door which has a hinge that is rusted and makes the door sag
