I have owned this bus for 11 years. It is a 43K og mile bus that came from northern Wisconsin. It was rusty and hit hard in the driver's side, but the interior was almost mint. At one point I added safaris, then the purist in me came through and I removed them. It has had almost the entire driver's side clip below the beltline installed, as well as the bottom 6" all the way around. The metal work was pre-Gerson. Most pieces were harvested from dry donors. The belly pans were fabricated. 36hp ngine/tranny/front end have been rebuilt. I scrounged a set of NOS ribbed bumpers. I'll start by posting several of the photos I currently have:

I have a sample of some of the original sunroof material. It is a dark army green canvas, almost like flat palm green. Still looking for an exact match. The rotisserie was built specifically for '55-'57 Chevrolets, and has been modified to accept the bus. The shop that is doing the final body and paint just completed a very nice resto on walkthrough mouse gray 21 window for the original owner. |

Also, seems like it runs straight forward and back since all wheels look "fixed", no swivels!?!
Kick ass job on the bus though! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Kent,
I can't wait until your 57 sunroof standard and my 58 non-sunroof deluxe buses are finished so we can park them side by side and enjoy the sight while sipping a few cold adult beverages.

Yes, I will make fun of you for not having a sunroof and you can make fun of me for not having corner windows. Ofcourse, if your bus had a sunroof and mine did not, they wouldn't be such a big deal, would they? |

amazing
Im not much of a painter so bear with me here...but whats the reasoning for shooting the roof separate from the belt line up body area? harder to control overspray on already laid paint? too hard to reach all the areas in a short enough amount of time? not criticizing, just wondering. _________________ drive your split. |
