anyone have any ideas of where to go (ie. website) to look into buying/importing a vw from sweden? i live in CA where you still can find one with little to no rust - i hear you can find some stellar classics out there as well. just curious, been searching the web to no avail so i thought i'd consult my peers - thanks! |

I imported my 52 split from Sweden. I posted an ad looking for a split here on the samba and you wouldnt believe all the replies I got from Europe. It just so happened that Magnus Wiksten from Sweden had 3 or 4 splits in different condition for sale. I bought mine running and complete and he shipped it into Houston for a set price. I would suggest good detailed pics of known rusted areas because I went through this with mine. I still was happy with my purchase but the key is as many up close good poics as possible especially if you are gonna drop some coin for one.
PM Jason Eden. He just had 3 splits imported form Sweden. _________________ GFK

I have some comming from sweden. Shipping coast alot and its a pain in the ass no one knows what the hell they are talking about. I would say buy a driving one it will save you about 1200.00 shipping because they no longer do tow ons so it has to go in a container if it does not run. Good luck |
