i bought a pair of solex 40 pii-4 carbs for my bug. but the air fliters that came with them won't fit. does any one know where to get one that does fit in a bug. the guy i got them from had them in a sandrail so clearance was not a problem. i cannot even get the air filter housing on the carb. it is a k&n filter and housing. i also thought about cutting down the filter housing and just getting new filters has any one ever done that with success?

i just was finishing putting on the tin and heater hose and came across another problem. the right side throttle control goes right in front of my right heater hose. has anyone ever came acrossed this before. it looks like the linkage is just a straight threaded bolt that is bent to go around the generator. so i am wondering if i can just get another one and bent it after the heater hose?

I just wanted to say that you did a good job making things work! So how do ya like the dual carbs? Big difference, huh. Way to think on your feet!

it definitly has more power then my old ones. i went from 34 ict to the solex pii so it had power before, but now it has more and more power is better. at least until i get a ticket(hopefully not though).
